Struggling with that 2017 List? Here’s what it holds for you.

Even a door that closes has value. It gives us purpose. That’s how new beginnings are formed when new doorways are opened by the ones that are about to close. The new year is on its way and we’re about to step into 365 days of who knows what! Apart from the tiring moments of each day where I manage to give my time to all demands (and I’m not even married yet), the day ends with thoughts of the unknown. What does the future hold for me? What lies ahead?

I always need to reassure myself that it’s ok to do what I do. It’s ok to stay stagnant for a while until the right thing comes along or until I find the right thing. Even if the new year is about to begin and I haven’t achieved what I exactly wanted to do, I know that I will get somewhere and that will make me happy.

Life is a race… Is it really?

It turns into a race. The moment we take up responsibilities, the moment we aspire, the moment we feel for someone, the moment we want to get back at someone, life turns into a serpentine race. Being ambitious is one thing, having the patience for it is another.

So what now?

I want to go with the flow. I don’t want to be pushed. I’d rather push myself and I am pretty good at that. Someone very not-so-wise once recommended a wise suggestion, “Every day, do something that takes you out of your comfort zone. It will help you grow.” Or it might just put me back into my comfort zone but at least it would be something to talk about.

In  2017, I am going to…

We can make promises and resolutions. We can become ambitious. What we really need to do is make note of it. Grab a pen and paper and write it down. Whatever you want to do for the next 365 days, note it down in that book, post-it or even something that can be put up on your refrigerator. Once the perspective is gained, you will know where you need to be headed.

I can assure you, the moment you see that list, you know you’re in for an adventurous 2017. My first to-do on my list is – I want to be more with my family. What’s your first priority?

The new year holds for you what you put into it. Cheers!!
